Digital Accessibility

UW–Madison fulfills its public mission by creating an inclusive community for everyone, including disabled individuals. Everyone creates digital content and is responsible for ensuring digital access. Accessibility is a civil right, the right thing to do, and everyone’s shared responsibility.

ADA Digital Accessibility Requirements

In April 2024, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) adopted a new rule requiring digital tools and electronic resources used at public universities to be accessible by meeting technical requirements. The new rule ensures disabled individuals do not experience discrimination by being able to use the same technology as people without disabilities.
