Policies and procedures related to accessibility at UW-Madison.
How policies influence actions
Accessibility should be viewed as the right thing to do in order to create a more inclusive university. Policies help reinforce these ideas, respect others, and understand how to follow the rules designed to support a more inclusive culture.
The University of Wisconsin-Madison is committed to creating an accessible and inclusive university experience for all members of the campus community. Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) provide that no qualified individual with a disability be denied access to or participation in services, programs, and activities at the university.
These acts, as well as Wisconsin state law, UW System, and UW-Madison policy, apply to virtually all aspects of campus activities, including employment, student programming, and services provided to the community at large.
